TFL Wins Light A Fire Award from Moffly Publications

On Thursday, October 30, 2008 at the Sheraton, Stamford CT. Moffly media’s first Light a Fire Awards saluted those who have gone beyond the ordinary to extraordinary in their giving back to our community. From philanthropists and volunteers to organizations helping families, children and the community, the honorees were honored as a truly unique group.

During the evening’s celebration, Moffly Media president Jonathan Moffly noted:

“We are blessed to live among so many people willing to step up and address the issues and needs of our area the way the residents of Fairfield County do. Our honorees tonight lead the way. They are shining examples of doing good for others.”

Accepting the award Diane Blanchard, Co-President of Time For Lyme noted:

“The success of our organization is all about our community and our amazing team of passionate resourceful executive and advisory board. While our board is the engine, we have been able to carry our message throughout the community because of publications like Greenwich Magazine. We could not have done this without you, and on behalf of our board, we would like to thank you for your consistent support and for this esteemed honor.”

Light a Fire nomination ballots appeared on the Moffly Media website in March and April. Local residents were asked to submit nominations for noteworthy individuals and organizations. From the many submissions, 12 honorees were selected based on the contributions they have made to help those in need in Fairfield County.

A portion of the evening’s proceeds were donated to the Fairfield County Community Foundation. The FCCF promotes the growth of effective philanthropy to strengthen the communities of Fairfield County. It serves as a leader, catalyst and resource for philanthropy; creating and managing charitable funds, while also identifying and addressing community needs through initiatives, partnerships and strategic grant making.
