3RD ANNUAL FALL BOUTIQUE BENEFITS TIME FOR LYME
More than 25 vendors, early holiday shopping raises money to fund critically important Lyme disease research
The third annual Time for Lyme Fall Boutique and Appraisal Day was a huge success for everyone: shoppers, vendors and Time for Lyme. The event was held on October 25th at the Christ Church Parish Hall in Greenwich. Shoppers purchased holiday gift items from carefully screened vendors while supporting Time for Lyme (TFL). A portion of all proceeds was donated to the organization. More than 350 shoppers attended, over 50 items were appraised and over $10,000 was raised to fund research for Lyme disease diagnosis and treatment.
The Boutique featured more than twenty-five enthusiastic exhibitors, some with a personal connection to Lyme disease. Everyone was excited to participate because “people like the idea of supporting the fight against Lyme disease,” said Barbara Edwards, VP of Special events for TFL and event co-coordinator.
Appraisers, who donated 100% of their proceeds to Time for Lyme, were also on hand. Direct from www.igavel.com, an online art auction website was owner Lark E Mason, Jr. With him was Helen F. Kippax, of The Antiques Brokerage House, Ltd, an art consulting and appraisal business. With their vast knowledge they were available to appraise anything from valued heirlooms to flea market purchases for a $20 fee per item. .
Barbara Edwards and Libby Tuttle, owner of Designing Women, organized the event and selected the merchants from a large list of vendors to create a wide variety of interesting items and price levels. The merchandise sold included custom blended teas, chic accessories, fine and hand-crafted jewelry, home decorations, clothing for men, women and children and much, much more.
A huge THANK YOU to all who participated as organizers, vendors and shoppers! What a fabulous beginning to the holiday season for Time for Lyme!
